JILL POTTER

Jill Potter worked over 30 years in the Ocean County Criminal Court and New Jersey State Courts serving in a number of capacities from Probation Officer to Team Leader/ Manager, until retiring in 2019. Through her time in the courts, Jill developed a strong moral compass and a deep understanding of good governance.

Since moving to Asbury Park in 1999, Jill has devoted and volunteered her free time to the growth and evolution of Asbury Park. Her contributions include:

  • Continuously serving as an active member of the Asbury Park Zoning Board since 2019;

  • Continuously serving as an active member of the Asbury Park Parking Committee since 2018;

  • A Co-Founding member of Q-Spot, our LGBTQI Community Center circa 2003;

  • A Co-Founding member of Nextdoor – Asbury Park;

  • Board Member of the Asbury Park Historical Society circa 2003; and

  • Chairperson of the The Asbury Park Marketing Fund, a grassroots committee that brought us the renowned weekend event, “Road Trip.” This event attracted thousands of tri-state LGBTQI to Asbury Park from 2002 to 2008.

A hard working entrepreneur, Jill also owned and operated several successful businesses in Asbury Park and currently devotes her time to her dog training and behavior modification company. Jill has been working with dogs of all backgrounds in Asbury and the surrounding Monmouth County areas for the last 10 years.

Driven by her long standing love for Asbury Park, Jill is ready to serve its residents as a council person. Jill’s previous experiences have shaped her passion and commitment to making the future of Asbury Park inclusive and successful for all.
